Background

I started my career in 2013 as a Licensed Massage Therapist and Reiki Practitioner. Back then, I already understood how powerful the body is, but in 2017, after going through a really hard season in my own life, that belief deepened. I turned to yoga for support and completed my yoga teacher training through Pranakriya School for Healing Arts in 2018.

Then COVID hit, and being trauma-informed became a necessity. People were coming in for sessions feeling overwhelmed, anxious, and unable to relax in the ways they used to. The tools they'd relied on weren't working anymore, and honestly, I felt like my training wasn't fully meeting them either. I knew I needed to learn something different.

That's when I found Somatic Experiencing. I completed that training in 2022, and it completely changed how I work. It helped me understand how the nervous system plays a role in everything: stress, healing, connection, all of it. But more than anything, it taught me to slow way down. To listen. To pay attention to what the body is actually saying instead of trying to "fix" it.

Since then, I've seen clients feel more like themselves again, less anxious, less reactive, and more able to come back to a sense of balance when life happens. And honestly, it's changed me too. I'm more present, more aware of my own needs, and more intentional in how I show up, both in session and in my life.

I opened The Healing Collective in 2019 because I wanted to create a space that felt different. A space that felt safe, welcoming, and real, especially for myself and others who haven't always felt seen or understood in wellness spaces. The Healing Collective is meant to be warm, curious, and inclusive, with a culture intolerant of anything rooted in harm or oppression. We welcome everyone, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
